I've been waiting for Moon Chae Won to play a Princess again after her brilliant performance in the Painter of the Wind so I was so happy hearing that she's taking another role in Sageuk Drama, this time taking a lead role as Lee Se Ryeong (이세령) in KBS Wednesday - Thursday Drama "The Princess' Man" (공주의 남자 - GongJuUi NamJa).
Se Ryeong is the eldest daughter of General Kim Jong Seo who serves as Vice-Premier during the reign of King Mun Jong and he's King's most trusted person. She has cheerful personality.
One day, her younger sister tells her that their parents receive a marriage proposal from Grand Prince Su Yang (King Mun Jong's younger brother). Grand Prince Su Yang proposes to arrange a marriage between his youngest son (Kim Seung Yu, played by Park Si Hoo) and Se Ryeong. Se Ryeong is shocked but her curiosity leads her to her first meeting with her future-husband, Seung Yu at the palace.
Se Ryeong pretends to be Princess Gyeong Hye (she is King Mun Jong's daughter) and Seung Yu is one of Princess Gyeong Hye's new teacher. Se Ryeong strong personality gives Seung Yu hard time during his teaching, but soon after they are getting closer and fall in love with each other.
On the other hand, King Mun Jong (following advice from his government officials) decides to arrange Princess Gyeong Hye's marriage. After much deliberation, General Kim Jong Seo decides to accept King's proposal (his youngest son, Kim Seung Yu to marry Princess Gyeong Hye and Seung Yu to be Prince Consort after his marriage), betraying Grand Prince Su Yang.
King Mun Jong who knows that his time will be up really soon is worry about his younger son who will ascend to the throne after he dies. He chooses Kim Seung Yu and General Kim Jong Seo to protect his children from Grand Prince Su Yang as he's aware of the evil plan his brother has planned.
Unfortunately, after King Mun Jong dies, the bloody event and turmoil starts in this kingdom. Grand Prince Su Yang practically kills everyone who is in his way as he climbs to ascend the throne and becomes King Sejo of the Joseon Dynasty.
